Chicago's beside Lake Michigan in Illinois. It's one of the biggest lakes of the Five Great Lakes of North America. Chicago is one of the latest cities in the U.S. and it's the third most populous city in the United States after New York and Los Angeles, but we didn't use Chicago as the starting point for our Route 66 trip. So why do I mention the city?
There's a special sign right on the side of the road that marks the beginning of Route 66. Although our journey didn't start here, we have visited the city many times and my first stop in the U.S. was Chicago which I knew was the third largest city in the country. but I was disappointed when the plane arrived. Because we flew from Shanghai, which is also an international airport. That's the busiest、noisiest and most magnificent airport.
There are more people waiting for their planes, but Chicago's international airport was quieter, with only a few planes taking off and landing at that time we arrived on January 20. 2014.
Will's Tower was first, the tallest building in the U.S before One World Trade Center was built. The most fearful and unforgettable thing was to stand at the top of Will's Toner looking down. you would get the strongest feeling that you could be a bird swooping down, then flying toward to the distant horizon.
Chicago had the most delicious and many kinds of food getting together in the city. My favorite dishes are Deep Dish Pizza and Ice Cream.
About Route 66. It's a museum in the town, but I haven't been there yet.
I would like to say, I don't like the biggest city. so let's get in the car and driving to the next stop.
